Meet-the-expert event with Prof. Christopher Workman, Center for Biological Sequence Analysis, Kongens Lyngby, DK. He presents a talk entitled “Systems biology approaches for determining transcriptional regulatory networks.
May 9, 2014
Meet-the-expert event with Dr. Nir Yosef, Dept. of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Center for Computational Biology, University of Berkeley, USA.
Nir Yosef uses high-throughput genomic data sets, mostly based on DNA sequencing, in order to build models that explain how gene expression is regulated. He has special interest in immune cells, covering various aspects of their biology, such as their differentiation, stability/ plasticity, and response to acute stimulation.
April 25, 2014
Meet-the-expert event with Dr. Alex K. Shalek, Broad Institute, Cambridge, MA, USA. Alex Shalek is working on leveraging nano- and microtechnologies to develop new methods for thoroughly and controllably profiling the behaviors of single cells. To date, his research has focused on combining traditionally distinct scientific disciplines to explore how small components drive systems of vast complexity.

1st Gender seminar of the ImmunoSensation Cluster
In a joint effort, the Cluster’s Young Investigator Support and the Gender Support host Ursula Mättig, equal opportunity commissioner of the University of Bonn, and Martina Pottek, coordinator of the MeTra program University of Bonn.
In the first seminar Mrs. Mättig will present a short overview about the integration of gender equality policies at the University of Bonn, and will provide helpful contacts concerning gender equality issues. Mrs. Pottek will give insights in the MeTra program, which supports woman in their career development at different educational levels. In our seminar, Mrs. Pottek will focus on the assistance and the promotion of female PhD students as well as female post docs.
