Admission requirements

The consecutive master course of studies "Medical Immunosciences and Infection" is directed at applicants with a completed qualifying degree from a German or foreign college or university in the fields of (Molecular) Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biology, Human Biology or Medicine (2nd state exam) or in a related field.

The degree must have been completed with the mark 2.3 ("good", grade B) or better.

Concerning the qualifying degree program, proof must be brought of medical or life science competence equivalent to the standard of the bachelor Molecular Biomedicine (Bsc). The prerequisite courses include:

  1. Either Immunology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Anatomy or Physiology with a total of at least 30 CPs, as well as
  2. Either Chemistry, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Microbiology with a total of at least 30 CPs, as well as
  3. Lab experience in at least one of the fields according to Para. 1 or 2 with a total of at least 20 CPs

English language proficiency at a minimum of the B2 level according to the Common European Reference Framework for Languages (GeR) is necessary and must be proven via an approved language test (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) or an equivalent document.

Regulations for the selection procedure

The selection criteria include:

  • Academic record
  • Performance in a specific scientific aptitude test, which will be devised for the program
  • Performance in the selection interview
