Food Can Fix It:
How Healthy Eating Can Protect Us and the Planet
Our diet affects not only our personal health but also the environment and the climate. But what might a food system look like that supports both?
In this panel discussion – part of the accompanying program to the exhibition “What the Health – One World. Your Health!” – experts will explore the latest dietary recommendations from the German Nutrition Society (DGE) and the Planetary Health Diet.
How were these guidelines developed? What role does a plant-based diet play? And what does this mean for our meat consumption?
We will also discuss what changes in agriculture are needed to promote more sustainable practices and ensure future food security. Because what we eat plays a key role in shaping the future of our planet – and our own health.
Panel participants:
– Anne Carolin Schäfer (Scientist at the German Nutrition Society)
– Dr. Gesa Maschkowski (Science Editor at the Federal Center for Nutrition)
– Prof. Dr. Peter Stehle (Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Physiology, University of Bonn)
– Prof. Dr. Tim Vilz (Specialist in Visceral Surgery, University Hospital Bonn)
Moderation: Nicola Trenz, Editor at Deutschlandfunk Nova and KNA.
Please note that the event is in held German!
