The StadtLandMitmachbus will bring the medicine of the future to your doorstep. Interactive stations and direct dialogue with researchers invite to experience science live and up close. Learn about innovative topics in medicine, such as robotics, ethics and - of course - immunology.
To mark the Science Year 2026, Bonn University's medical-themed StadtLandMitmachbus will be wending its way through the Rhineland and Eifel countryside, inviting you to engage with researchers and science in a fun and readily accessible way - and contribute your own ideas on how the medicine of the future should look like. In each of the five places the bus will stop, we will be collecting your suggestions and questions to work through and use as potential inspiration for new research done in Bonn!
The area around the Mitmachbus will be transformed into a mobile attraction in its own right. By embarking on a “gallery walk” featuring roll-ups or videos and by chatting to researchers, you will be presented with easy-to-understand knowledge about topics such as wearables, robotics in surgery, or ethical questions in medicine. A choice of free smoothies and cozy seating will invite to linger that little bit longer.
"Our Immune System & Metabolism - The Key to Better Health?"
On October 2nd, the research of ImmunoSensation3 and the SFB Metaflammation of Bonn University will be in focus. The immune system is dynamic and diverse, across scales. Its structures, functions and dynamics depend on genetic and environmental influences, lifestyle, gender, previous illnesses and age. Meet our scientists and discuss about the role of environmental chemicals like PFAS, sex and gender, and nutrition on your immune system in health and diesease.
