The overall goal of our research is to understand the molecular cellular mechanisms by which chronic inflammation can affect outcome of infection and immune cell function. Specifically, the research focuses on mechanistic studies to understand the impact of chronic inflammation during liver fibrosis on the function of hepatic myeloid cells in host defence and adaptive immune responses against de novo infections.
